What is changing right now
A new edition of ISO 9001 is on its way. The standard's record at ISO currently shows the status „International Standard under publication" (stage 60.00), edition 6, with a publication date of . The record also notes that the standard is in its final production steps, which ISO puts at up to seven weeks, so September is the publisher's expectation rather than a guaranteed date: the release may move by a few weeks. Until it is issued, ISO 9001:2015 applies, together with Amendment 1:2024. Certificates issued against the 2015 edition do not expire overnight: once the new edition is published, a transition period begins, and its length is set by the IAF and the certification bodies.
Two standards have already been replaced, and the Polish Standards have not caught up yet. ISO has withdrawn ISO 9000:2015 and ISO 19011:2018, replacing them with 2026 editions. The Polish Standards collection, however, still lists PN-EN ISO 9000:2015-10 and PN-EN ISO 19011:2018-08, because adopting a new edition into the PN collection always happens later. If you work with the Polish versions, check which edition your own document cites.
The first AI management system standard is now a Polish Standard. In April 2026 PKN adopted PN-EN ISO/IEC 42001:2026-04 (English version), identical to ISO/IEC 42001:2023. It is the first certifiable AI management system standard, built on the same High Level Structure as ISO 9001, so it integrates with an existing quality system. Among other things it requires AI system impact assessment, risk oversight and transparency towards users.

ISO Standards for an integrated management system
A company with ISO 9001 rarely stops there. Most ISO management system standards sit on the same High Level Structure, so procedures overlap and a single audit can cover several systems at once. Below are the standards most often used to build an integrated management system, grouped by area. The Certification column says whether you can be certified against the standard or whether it is a guidance document.
Pillars: quality, environment, health and safety (QHSE)

The editions above were checked on in the ISO catalogue, and for the industry standards at their publishers. Certification is against a specific edition, so for each of these check whether a newer one has been issued and what transition period the certification bodies have set. AS9100 and EN 9100 do not come from ISO, even though they sit on ISO 9001.

PKN Polish versions of the standards
An international standard can be adopted into the collection of Polish Standards. Such a PN has its own number and date, usually later than the ISO original, while its content is identical (marked [IDT]). Below is the current Polish Standard for each ISO standard described on this page, with a link to its record in the PKN shop. We point to the edition in force, even where it is available only in an English-language version.

Joint AIAG and VDA publications
Two organisations that had issued separate manuals for the same methods for years have agreed on joint publications. For a supplier working for American and German customers at the same time, this is the most significant change of recent years.

How we check this
Every row above comes from the site of the organisation that issues the document: the standard records at ISO, the PKN search tool and shop, the IATF Global Oversight pages, the VDA QMC shop and the AIAG store. The check was made on . We do not copy this data from consultancy write-ups or trade portals.
At every review we open the ISO records of every standard on this page, the Polish Standard records in the PKN shop and the list of IATF communiques. VDA volumes and AIAG manuals are checked less often, because their editions change once every few years and the publishers' shops do not allow automated checking: for those entries what counts is the state given by the publisher, which the link takes you to.
This list says what has been issued and since when. It does not say what your particular customer requires: customer specific requirements may impose an earlier move to a new edition, or allow an older one for longer. What settles it is your agreement with the customer and their supplier portal. The status of a standard, its edition, licence and transition rules are decided by the relevant publisher, the accreditation body or the certification body; before an implementation decision, check the source given with the item.
